Are the illegal voters in the room with us right now?Permalink

Donald Trump just signed an executive order mandating proof of citizenship to vote. Sounds serious. Sounds patriotic. Sounds like total bullshit.

Let’s cut through the smoke: non-citizens can’t legally vote in federal elections. Haven’t. Don’t. Won’t. And there’s no evidence that they’re trying to. So why the executive order? Simple.

Because facts don’t matter when you’re staging a con.

This isn’t about “election integrity.” It’s about manufacturing a threat so you can “heroically” solve it—right in time for an election. And the crowd goes wild.

Spoiler: this won’t stop voter fraud. It will stop voters.

The Fraud That Isn’tPermalink

Let’s talk numbers. From 2000 to 2014, researchers found only 31 credible cases of in-person voter impersonation out of more than 1 billion ballots cast. That’s a fraud rate of 0.0000031% 1.

The 2020 election? Out of over 25 million ballots in six swing states, there were fewer than 475 potential fraud cases—that’s less than 0.002% 2.

And non-citizen voting? Virtually nonexistent. When it does happen, it’s typically clerical error, not some cartel plot to swing Ohio blue 3.

But if Trump and his loyal echo chamber admitted that, their whole narrative collapses.

The Real Purpose of This OrderPermalink

This isn’t about stopping fraud. It’s about two things:

  1. Creating an excuse. If Trump had lost in 2024 (for the 2nd time), he’d already have laid the groundwork: “See? I warned you about all those illegal votes! Voter fraud!” But since he won it was all perfectly legitimate (funny how that works).
  2. Suppressing the vote. Citizenship documentation disproportionately burdens the elderly, the poor, and minorities—i.e., Democratic voters.

Let’s not pretend this is subtle. This is strategic disenfranchisement wrapped in a flag.

Meanwhile, the System Is Already SecurePermalink

Want to actually understand how tight the U.S. election system is? Try reading a fucking report. States already verify citizenship through DMV data, Social Security databases, and other federal sources 4.

Mail-in ballots have barcode tracking. Ballot boxes are monitored. Machines undergo pre-election logic tests. Most states use paper backups. And post-election audits are now the norm 5.

If anything, the system bends over backward to be secure. What it doesn’t do is make Republican losses magically disappear. Hence the need for a scapegoat.

This Ain’t About Justice. It’s About Justification.Permalink

Trump’s executive order is political theatre. The plot? He’s the brave patriot defending democracy from imaginary hordes of illegal voters. The audience? A base primed to believe the lie, because reality didn’t give them the outcome they wanted.

If Republicans lose, it’s rigged. If they win, democracy works. Got it?

The goal isn’t to protect elections. It’s to make sure only MAGA voters count.

Don’t let this sideshow distract you. The real fraud is the narrative itself.

We’re Not That Stupid. Right?Permalink

Trump’s latest order is the equivalent of installing a shark net in the desert. There’s no threat—it’s just optics. But it comes with a cost: eroded trust, voter suppression, and a media cycle feeding bullshit to the masses.

Ask yourself:

  1. Who benefits when fewer people vote?
  2. If their message is so great, why do they want to make it harder for people to vote?

And then ask again—why the hell are we still falling for this?
